Medication Assisted Treatment: MAT 8-Hour Waiver Training
Jul 25 @ 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

This training is designed for healthcare professionals treating individuals with opioid use disorders. This training is required for physicians to be able to apply for the waiver from the Drug Enforcement Agency to prescribe buprenorphine, one of three medications approved by the FDA for the treatment of opioid use disorder. Nurse Practitioners and Physician assistants are required to complete 24 hours of training including this 8-hour MAT training.

Naloxone Training Schedule

Naloxone (Narcan®) is the medication that REVERSES an opioid overdose.

All training sessions will include risk factors & prevention strategies, signs & symptoms of overdose, how to administer naloxone, Good Samaritan Law, and treatment/support resources.

Training will include:

  • Overdose prevention strategies
  • Signs and symptoms of overdose
  • How to administer naloxone (NARCAN)
  • Good Samaritan Law
  • Support information and resources
  • Learn the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to respond
  • Participants will receive a FREE NARCAN Kit after completion of the training
