ASIST Training Meriden

Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) is a two-day interactive workshop in suicide first aid designed for all caregiving groups. ASIST teaches participants to recognize when someone may have thoughts of suicide and work with them to create a plan that will support their immediate safety. Although ASIST is widely used by healthcare providers, participants do not need any formal training to attend the workshop—anyone 16 or older can learn and use the ASIST model.

Since there are no buses running on Thanksgiving Day, we do have transportation volunteers that can provide a ride. Please call in by 11/25 to reserve your ride.

There are 9 stairs leading to the event. If needed, delivery is available.

QPR Training – December @ Manchester Community College

QPR stands for Question, Persuade, and Refer – three simple steps that anyone can learn
to help save a life from suicide. Just as people trained in CPR and the Heimlich Maneuver help save thousands of lives each year, people trained in QPR learn how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to question, persuade, and refer someone to help.

Norwich WinterFest 5K and FREE FitKids Fun Run

Join us for the 7th Annual Norwich WinterFest 5K! Reliance Health, Inc. and HMF Events (Hartford Marathon Foundation) are pleased to bring the WinterFest 5K and Free FitKids Fun Run back to Norwich. Join this festive race for a great cause – to benefit Reliance Health, Inc., a non-profit community mental health center in Norwich while highlighting the importance of community wellness. New location and NEW COURSE for 2019! Registration and awards will be held at Kelly Middle School with the 5K taking runners through Mohegan Park.

The race is open to both walkers and runners at all fitness and experience levels – a fun family event to get moving and active! Not a runner or a walker? Consider volunteering!
